Guide to Increase your Laptop Battery:

1. Adjusting your Screen Brightness

Brightness is the #1 factory affecting your Battery performance, have you ever thought that do you really need the brightness level high all the time ? the answer is ‘No’ when you’re in your House or any other Indoor place there is already enough lightings and make sure that you change your brightness level to low so that your Laptop will consume less battery. I’m sure that you’ll see a significant change of around 1-1:30 hours in your battery backup.

2. Disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

When not in use just Disable your Laptop’s WiFi and Bluetooth so that it’ll not consume juice of your battery. many Notebooks and Laptops comes with a dedicated key or a short-cut key to turn off WiFi and Bluetooth. make use of those keys when not working with WiFi or Bluetooth.

3. Change the Power Plan Settings

If you’re using Windows 8.1 so right click in the bottom left corner of your screen and select Power Options and tweak your power options by selecting your preferred Plan and you can also edit Advanced settings if you want to make your battery last really long.

4. Remove Unwanted Software’s

there are tons of free and paid software’s for Windows Operating System and users sometimes Install so many software in their PC which makes the Laptop use more RAM and thus consuming more battery power. Go to your Control Panel and remove unwanted software’s and also check which programs run at startup of your computer. if you’ve so many programs at startup it makes your computer slow, so my advice is to remove all those programs and Increase your battery Life.

5. Wipe off the Dust

After some period of time Laptop’s exhaust vent will catch Dust inside it and it’ll make the Laptop to get heated up very fast. so make sure that any of your laptops’s opening doesn’t have any obstructions. if you don’t want to risk yourself cleaning your Laptop from inside then go to a Computer repair shop they’ll do that for you for cheap cost.

6. Cool it Down

While using Laptop you change your positions quite a few times and sometimes place the laptop over the bed, Pillow or any kind of Table. Don’t do this again, while you put your laptop on a bed or anything else it blocks Exhaust vent thus the heat cannot pass out and your Laptop becomes significantly hot and consumes more battery life. my recommendation is to use a Laptop cooling stand, it’ll surely help you out.

7. Keep the Drives Empty

Whenever you play a DVD/CD drive it consumes so much of power spinning the DVD/CD discs so my recommendation is to copy the content of the DVD and then play whatever is in the Disc. and if you’re Installing an Software like Installing Windows you can use tools like Daemon Tools to copy the ISO image and then run it whenever you want to.
keeping USB drives and external Hard drives plugged in to your PC for a long time causes extra consumption of battery so remove then when the work is done from it.

8. Increase your RAM

Suppose a software needs 2 GB of RAM to run and your PC have 1.5 GB of RAM, if you run that program it’ll cause crashing and lagging and it will start to consume large amount of your battery power. so increase your RAM to at-least 4 GB to run each and every program smoothly without any lag.
Increase in RAM will also help in faster data transfer thus helping in saving more and more battery power.

9. Make use of Sleep and Hibernation

when leaving your desk for a break then turn your Laptop to Sleep or either Hibernation mode. when you’re taking a small break I’ll recommend to put it on Sleep so that you can quickly get back to the screen where you left it. and when taking longer breaks put your Laptop on Hibernation mode, it will consume very less power when on Hibernation mode and help you in saving more and more battery life.

10. Charge it properly

in many cases charging your Laptop battery excessively will lead to decrease its battery performance. so make sure when your Laptop is completely charged unplug it from the power socket. and one more tip from my side, don’t over use your Laptop while its charging because it leads to poor battery life of your Laptop.
